CANDIDATE CONGRATULATES CAPERS ON FAIR DEAL AWARD

6.35.00pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 23rd Sep 2008

Pershore's Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate, Richard Burt will attend an award ceremony for Capers delicatessen on Pershore High Street this Thursday (11am).

Capers was nominated for the Localise West Midlands supported award as an outstanding local retailer by Lynda Whitcombe of Plantation Cottage Herbs in Bricklehampton, who will make the presentation.

The delicatessen won the award for giving a fail deal to local food businesses

Richard said:

"Capers excels in building good relationships with both its food suppliers and customers in and around Pershore.

"Without success stories like Capers, jobs and trade would flow out of Pershore and the high street would be overtaken by the same retail chains you can see anywhere in the country."

Capers staff are staging a food festival inside the shop to mark the award
