MP STEPS OUT FOR 'WALK TO SCHOOL WEEK'

Solihull's MP, Lorely Burt today stepped out with children, parents and teachers from Our Lady of the Wayside school in Shirley to promote 'Walk to School Week'.

The Roman Catholic primary school has recently extended their 'walk to school' days to Monday and Tuesday each week as party of their school travel plan.

"Our Lady of the Wayside is setting a very good example in encouraging parents and pupils to walk to school and I was delighted to join them today to promote Walk to School Week," said Lorely.

"Teachers and parents at Our Lady of the Wayside are keen to encourage walking exercise, road safety awareness and reducing congestion around school by our walking activities," said Healthy Schools Co-ordinator, Carol Ashcroft.
